Hannah Bohner

Womens Soccer
Year: 2018

Bohner, a native of Winston-Salem, N.C., was a December graduate after studying Psychology at Bryan. Along with excelling in the classroom and earning her second consecutive Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete honors, as well as, being named to the All-Academic Team, Bohner helped her teammates make their mark in the history books with the winningest season in program history. The Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete programs recognize excellence in the classroom by NAIA-member student-athletes who are juniors or above in academic standing with a 3.5 cumulative GPA. Students must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended two full years as a non-transfer or one full year as a transfer. The awards are given annually to outstanding student-athletes in the various sports in which the program is active and their respective teams are eligible for NAIA postseason competition. All-Academic awards are presented to all student-athletes who excel in the classroom. Nominees must have completed two terms of attendance and attained a grade point average of 3.25 or higher. Bohner was also the Lion's representative to the Champion's of Character Team this year. To be voted to the AAC Champion's of Character Team, the individual must represent the five core values of the NAIA Champions of Character program: integrity, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship, and servant leadership.

Bryan fought their way to an overall record of 12-7 and conference record of 9-2 en route to the Lion's first-ever conference regular-season crown. Bryan ended the year in style during the 2017 NAIA Women's Soccer National Championship Opening Round when they forced the No. 1 team in the nation, Martin Methodist College (Tenn.), into overtime before the RedHawks escaped the near upset with a win via golden goal in overtime 1-0.
